DBSK/TVXQ Debuted on December 26,2003 after company S.M. Entertainment, or SooMan Entertainment lost two very popular groups, H.O.T and Shinhwa. In South Korea, they are known as DBSK, acronym for Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신기). In Japan, they are referred to ast TVXQ, acronym for Tohoshinki (東方神起). Both names translate into " Rising Gods Of The East." They Debuted with their debut song "Hug" during a BoA (another artist in S.M. Entertainment) and Britney Spears showcase and released their single January 14,2004, selling 5,000 copies and and getting ranked number 37on the monthly MIAK chart. The First member to join the group was Xiah Junsu at the age of 11 in 1999. he was being trained to be a solo artist but then was placed in a R&B group with now Super Junior members, Eunhyuk and Sungmin. They did not debut however and Junsu debuted with Dbsk and Eunhyuk and Sungmin debuted with Super Junior two years after Dbsk's debut. U-Know Yunho was the next to become a trainee in 2000 after many failed projects. In 2001, he was a featured rapper and briefly toured with Dana during her debut single "Butterfly". In that same year, Hero Jaejoong was accepted into S.M. He and Yunho were placed in the band 'Four Seasons' with, now Super Junior members, Heechul and Kagin. Jaejoong's stage name was 'Summer' and Yunho's was 'Spring'. The group never debuted with Yunho and Jaejoong debuting with DBSK and Heechul and Kagin debuting with Super Junior two years later. The next member to join was Max Changmin in 2002. He was 15 years old when DBSK debuted.
